Art-a-Whirl: The Liquor Pigs kick things off at the tent in back of 331 at 1 p.m. on Saturday. Alas, I will be in Indianapolis.

Also this weekend, the most-excellent underground music festival Heliotrope returns to the Ritz in NE. Skoal Kodiak getting mobbed on stage by skinny-jean hipsters was the high-point of last year's festival. Here's this weekend's lineup.

I won't be here for Art-a-Whirl - Boo. I love Julaporn's scupltures. I really want a couple of small nong's that she did. They are so freakin' weird and whimsical and funny.

That Heliotrope lineup is outstanding! Little pissed I have to work the second job tomorrow night and miss Skoal Kodiak and Vampire Hands. Won't miss Chooglin' @ Grumpy's on Saturday though.
