The CNN Bridge Panic: Will we make it to Forbs list of top 10 worst state bridges in the country? Or is this just the world worrying about the other boot dropping?
Will we absolve the poster of his grave grammatical sins? Will we demand coherent sentences (or at least a moderator who edits)?

Well, with no due respect to CNN, we are residents of the state where bridges fall down.
You're off the hook, Mississippi!

The Hwy. 23 bridge had already been prominently mentioned, along with the Hastings bridge, by MnDOT as seriously deficient months before yesterday's closing.
So, AFAIK, the only new news is that the bridge was closed because inspectors discovered gusset-plate buckling during their inspection yesterday.
My most immediate thought was: how long of a detour do St. Cloudites (Cloudians?) now need to take to get across the river?

Looks like you just need to go about 10 blocks south to get across the river (but it appears to be a 2-lane bridge).
