Quite a bit less safe for work, there is this brilliant and extremely low-budget remake of Taxi Driver.
»» Submitted by »»» msparber at 12:13 AM on March 20

is "18 and lost in denver" a preview of the DNC?
»» Submitted by grote at 12:26 AM on March 20

That guy's totally ripping off Dutch.

I've got this song in my head now. Thanks a lot!

And we seem to prefer viewing our porn in perfect alphabetical order!

Being solicited to buy at the intersection of Hennepin and Lake is much nicer than being solicited to give, and as a fan of the female form, I can't really object to the Victoria's Secret models now gracing one of its corners.
»» Submitted by champs|rt53 at 8:17 AM on March 21

I can't believe Barely 18 #36 is ahead of Barely 18 #37. #37 is superior in so many ways. From the cinematography, to the rich character development, Barely 18 #37 is at least in the top 8 of the Barely 18 franchise.
»» Submitted by »»» jderusha at 8:23 AM on March 21

I don't know, jderusha, Barely 18 seems like it was better in it's earlier days...when Rex was there.
»» Submitted by »»» Bixby at 8:37 AM on March 21

come on guys B18v.37 totally drinks the entire prior B18 series milkshake.

They would get more downloads if #5 was properly referred to as "hot dish."

»» Submitted by »»» justpbob at 8:45 AM on March 21

what about the prose bob? would the film have sold nearly as many without such witty prose?
»» Submitted by ryan l at 8:49 AM on March 21

Not even 9 am and we're debating the merits if the Barely 18 franchise...seems like a good omen for the day.
»» Submitted by »»» PwrGeek at 8:57 AM on March 21

Gophers Men's Hockey won! It is indeed an good omen for today!

I figured since it's Good Friday, Hot Cross Buns would be higher on the list.

I was thinking something without meat.

Lesbian Porn?
»» Submitted by Mpls Simpleton at 9:24 AM on March 21

since we seem to have stalled out on lesbian porn....and we branched off of casserole...anybody have a good recipe for healthy hotdish?

does it exist?
»» Submitted by ryan l at 9:43 AM on March 21

I wouldn't say stalled. I'd say "stalled".

I have a few hotdish recipes at home, but nothing grand. The last fwe days my wife has been threatening me with Meatloaf.

Is there such a thing as great meatloaf?
»» Submitted by »»» JACC at 9:47 AM on March 21

JACC- make the meatloaf with high quality meat of your choice, spinach, toasted pine nuts, lots of garlic and lots of greek seasoning. Yum.

I can't find a recipe online, but the only casserole I eat has wild rice, broccoli, bacon, and cheese in a sour cream base. No cream of whatever soup. Healthy might be a stretch, but you could call it less unhealthy.
»» Submitted by yepnope at 9:55 AM on March 21

@yepnope - That sounds awesome.
»» Submitted by »»» JACC at 9:57 AM on March 21

To avoid making a hot dish too bad for you avoid the canned soups and instead make a bechamel sauce and season it with sauteed mushrooms.
Some fresh asparagus with egg noodles make a nice addition. I don't usually cook from recipes directly so you will have to take it from there.

Alton Brown did a whole episode on casseroles.
»» Submitted by Mpls Simpleton at 10:00 AM on March 21

And pine nuts, especially toasted pine nuts, make anything delicious.

YUM

(and toasted sunflower seeds are nearly as good)
»» Submitted by »»» jane at 10:06 AM on March 21

I've been using toasted pumpkin seeds, which are also very tasty.
»» Submitted by »»» kc! at 10:09 AM on March 21

a mother sauce in a hotdish....now we are talking.

although healthy might be stretching it. I suspect healthy hotdish is in essence steamed stirfry.

»» Submitted by ryan l at 10:10 AM on March 21

Easiest way to make a hotdish healthy is to use the lower fat and/or lower sodium creamed soups. Oh, and use more veggies than starch.
»» Submitted by »»» aliecat at 10:13 AM on March 21

»» Submitted by ryan l at 11:24 AM on March 21

Not if you plan to do them all at the same time, ryan.
»» Submitted by »»» dezelske at 11:39 AM on March 21

I was promised a sugar coma by 1:00pm on Sunday. I sure hope the family comes through with that promise!
»» Submitted by »»» DouglasG at 11:52 AM on March 21

Take down the fucking Christmas decorations in Mears Park..

Light-up deer are already wretchedly campy in season, and completely inappropriate for late March, no matter what kind of weather we're having. If they're not down by April, deer-tipping will be my new hobby. If they're not turned off by mid-April, I'm unplugging them. If they're not gone by May, they are getting decapitated.
»» Submitted by »»» champs at 11:54 AM on March 21

would it be wrong of me to plan a day of fornication, drinking and taking the lords name in vain this sunday?

Only because you have to plan it. Shouldn't everyday allow you the opportunity for these events?
»» Submitted by »»» JACC at 11:57 AM on March 21

I just had free pizza for lunch. It was delicious and softens the blow of being one of the only financial institutions actually open today.

I have today off. I guess that makes it a "good friday."

The wife and I celebrated by taking down the gross, crumbly ceiling tiles in the basement. Well, mostly she did that while I posted on mnspeak.
»» Submitted by »»» kurtis at 12:25 PM on March 21

I checked up on Agent Filthy 0069 Mission 2 to assure all was going according to plan.

»» Submitted by Crumbling Society at 12:30 PM on March 21

Did somebody say crumbly??

Where's Alie? And more importantly where is her cervix?
»» Submitted by »»» mb21 at 12:31 PM on March 21

I took a half day yesterday, so I'm catching up with the cervix-load of work I have today...
»» Submitted by »»» aliecat at 12:32 PM on March 21

Gotcha. I'm gonna roll my cervix outta here around 3pm today myself.
»» Submitted by »»» mb21 at 12:40 PM on March 21

»» Submitted by 2oldfarts at 1:01 PM on March 21

Rock the Red Tail will be... more fun than an atheist convention! It's a fundraiser for a MN-based documentary about Northwest Airlines, specifically a mechanic who lost his job and goes to Hong Kong to meet his replacement.

There'll be some excellent music: Mike Gunther, Joanna James, Martin Devaney, all kinds of fun. Your tax-deductible donation will help the filmmakers go to China to film the last part of the film. FYI, The airline mechanics in Hong Kong may well lose their NWA gig to China, where labor is even cheaper.

Watch the trailer here.

I like to keep mine in a delicious state of disarray. Bacon on the walls. Bacon in the halls. Bacon wrapped balls.
»» Submitted by Crumbling Society at 1:06 PM on March 21

This is a pretty tasty hotdish. I don't know that I'd go so far as to call it healthy, but if you use lean meat and fresh ingredients it's not killer.
»» Submitted by »»» ranty at 1:09 PM on March 21

I got some bison bacon the other day. I plan to eat it with breakfast tomorrow. I hope it is better than turkey bacon.
»» Submitted by »»» kc! at 1:12 PM on March 21

Yoga, eh? Hmm... I'm feeling so lazy, have been cleaning all day... I better say no. I could be cajoled into it IF we went to Yum afterward and split a homemade Hostess cupcake. Wait, how about if we just meet at Yum at 10:00 for said cupcake?
»» Submitted by »»» jane at 2:55 PM on March 21

Hot damn. I like that idea even better! Cupcakes it is.
